Won’t Back Down Sports Media (WBD) is a sports media company founded by Preston Hays in 2023. WBD covers collegiate, professional, and high school sports, along with press conferences, athlete-sponsored fundraisers, and more. The company’s coverage spans game-day photography, sideline and locker room access, player-focused storytelling, and multimedia recaps built for fans who want to feel like they were there.

Preston has written over 50 articles and photographed more than 100 sporting events to date, including every sport at the University of Florida, SEC GameDay, and coverage at other universities such as UCF, Stetson, and Army. Preston founded WBD after majoring in Journalism with a specialization in Sports & Media at the University of Florida, where he interned with ESPN Gainesville and began building his skillset in writing and photography that now defines the company’s coverage style.

He has also worked with Gators Sports Properties (Learfield), managing gameday logistics and university partnership assets, and with Fanatics, supporting digital imaging production for one of the world’s largest licensed sports merchandise retailers.

Long before WBD existed, Preston was the person his family and friends went to for anything sports-related, quickly earning the nickname of being a “walking statistician” for his ability to rattle off a player’s stats, team record, or history without missing a beat. That lifelong knowledge and love of the game is what shows up in every article and photo he produces today. In Preston’s free time, he likes to watch sports…read about sports…and talk about sports.
